Knowing Who You Are

Sunday, January 8th, 2012

Do you truly know who you are? Do you accept yourself as you are? Have you let a termite in your life that has left unhealed damage?

I know that self love is not the easiest thing to give. It’s funny how we self criticize more than anything else. We become our own termite.

I didn’t make any New Year’s resolutions this year. I chose instead to make a goal of putting myself first. Not in a selfish or mean way…but in a way of self love. As each year goes by, I’ve always said I want to lose weight this year, I want to get down to this size etc..

I’ve come to realize that this is me. In all my beautiful glory, this is me. So instead of setting a goal to get down to this size or this weight, I’ve set a goal to just simply love myself and exterminate the termites.

I know who I am. I know what I have been through in my life. I know what my weaknesses are and what my strengths are.

There is a quote that I absolutely love:

I am STRONG because I know my Weakness. I am BEAUTIFUL because I see my flaws. I am a LOVER because
I have felt hate. I am FEARLESS because I have been afraid.

We have to remember that we are not all the same for a reason. While I may never be a Victoria Secret model, I am still beautiful and I am me. You can’t get any more real than that.

Take the time to figure out who you are. Accept you for you.

Make 2012 a great year…Love yourself first and foremost and eliminate the internal termites!
