Knowing Who You Are

Sunday, January 8th, 2012

Do you truly know who you are? Do you accept yourself as you are? Have you let a termite in your life that has left unhealed damage?

I know that self love is not the easiest thing to give. It’s funny how we self criticize more than anything else. We become our own termite.

I didn’t make any New Year’s resolutions this year. I chose instead to make a goal of putting myself first. Not in a selfish or mean way…but in a way of self love. As each year goes by, I’ve always said I want to lose weight this year, I want to get down to this size etc..

I’ve come to realize that this is me. In all my beautiful glory, this is me. So instead of setting a goal to get down to this size or this weight, I’ve set a goal to just simply love myself and exterminate the termites.

I know who I am. I know what I have been through in my life. I know what my weaknesses are and what my strengths are.

There is a quote that I absolutely love:

I am STRONG because I know my Weakness. I am BEAUTIFUL because I see my flaws. I am a LOVER because
I have felt hate. I am FEARLESS because I have been afraid.

We have to remember that we are not all the same for a reason. While I may never be a Victoria Secret model, I am still beautiful and I am me. You can’t get any more real than that.

Take the time to figure out who you are. Accept you for you.

Make 2012 a great year…Love yourself first and foremost and eliminate the internal termites!

Loving Life & Feeling Good

Thursday, October 14th, 2010

It’s funny how hard we are on ourselves some times, if we would some times just take a minute and hush the critical voices in our heads and listen to those people around us we might find that people really do love us the way we are.

My weight has always been an issue for me. I am one that would love to have the confidence of a super model, and can sometimes pull it off when in fact I am the most self conscious person out there. I am constantly thinking about how I look. When I sit I am fixing my shirt so my tummy looks a little more concealed, god forbid someone have a camera out…lol (more…)

Looking Good In Your Plus Size Lingerie

Wednesday, June 23rd, 2010

There is no longer any reason to be shy about shopping for plus size women lingerie. Not so long ago plus size women had only two choices when going to bed: either sleep in a rumpled nightgown or sleep in the buff. Now there is the choice of wearing lingerie that will make every plus size woman feel as sexy as she truly is.

It can be very nerve racking and embarrassing to go out to the local mall or shopping center to look for lingerie. It can also be very expensive. Many lingerie retailers mark-up plus size lingerie. Reasons such as these make shopping online a perfect alternative. (more…)

When You’re Feeling Down

Friday, May 7th, 2010

It’s hard to remember sometimes that our situations aren’t as bad as they may seem at the time.

I may not be super model material. I may never be a size 5. I may be big my entire life. I may always have people that insult me instead of seeing the beauty that I know I have.

But…It could be worse. I think that sometimes we draw inspiration from people that have circumstances far beyond what our minds could imagine.

I have seen this video several times and have posted it to my Facebook account on several occasions. But I wanted to share it here to, just in case one of you haven’t seen it.

Remember ladies…You are beautiful – Just the way you are!

So Looking Forward to Spring

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

The weather is finally starting to warm up! I love winter, but man I am looking forward to spring this year! I’ve hit the tanning bed to start getting my tan on…otherwise I would probably blind everyone. LOL

We are taking the girls to Disney World over spring break this year. Really looking forward to getting away for a few days.

I went shopping trying to find some capris as I am sure it will be warm in Florida. I practically had to buy bermuda shorts in order to get them to fit like capris! Do they not make a capri for a short person? (more…)
