Digging Deep and Finding the Beauty

I have always believed that each of us is beautiful in our own special way. Some of us are pretty to look at, some of us have nice hair, some of us have nice teeth, some of us have great personalities. If you think about it, there is something about each of us, that someone else admires, or wishes they had.

No I didn’t say they would admit it openly…

Do you ever give yourself a compliment? Tell yourself that you look beautiful?

Sometimes I think we get so caught up in the day to day, that we forget to take a minute and be our own friend. We forget that being comfortable in your own skin, starts with loving yourself. We can be our own worst critics.

I am sure you are wondering what brings this up…well I got to thinking the other day as I was putting my makeup on, that I really like my eyes and how I felt so pretty that day, but as I finished up and walked by the full length mirror, how hard I was on myself. And how in that split second of putting myself down, that one thought that entered my head, made me feel horrible and instead of wearing what I originally picked out, I ended up in a pair of jean capris and a tshirt. I ended up pulling my hair back and saying screw it.

Had I only been a little nicer to myself…I would have felt better that entire day. I would have felt beautiful, I would have looked beautiful, but it changed in that instant with that one nasty thought.

So when you are getting dressed today…do me a favor. When you walk by that mirror, don’t let that one dreaded thought get the chance to ruin your day. Beat it to the punch. Flip your hair, bat your pretty little eyes, smile and say…”Honey, you look great today!” and just keep on walking.

Dig down deep and find your beauty that you hide away. Be you, be big and be beautiful!

Discover an Exciting Career in Plus-Size Modeling

Plus-size modeling promotes ‘real’ body shapes where models wear a size 12+. Their work encompass every aspect of the modeling industry: from fashion shoots and major campaigns promoting products on skin care, make-up and hair products to lingerie and swimsuits.

With over 60% of women being size 12+, curvy models are in demand and plus-size girls now forge fabulous careers and travel the world working for international clients.

** Why consider a career in plus-size modeling? **

Think of the clothes, the fun, the travel and an opportunity to work in a glamorous and exciting industry. Plus, it’s really rewarding to represent a new, and more representative, body type where ‘phat’ has a whole new meaning! Read more »

Brutal Words…

The other day I decided to take my husbands truck to get it washed. He has a beautiful 2006 Dodge Ram ThunderRoad Edition. It’s a sort of burgundy red, all chromed out with a custom bed cover and a custom paint job that consists of flames and playboy bunnies…yes I said playboy bunnies.

He gets A LOT of compliments on it. He has even had people ask if their businesses can ‘Sponsor’ it. (put their names on it for something in trade)

Anyways, so here I am driving along, Read more »

The Big Ballet

I seen this on the news the other day and decided to look it up. I wish they would come to the US as I would love to see it:

The Big Ballet

They showed small clips and the women looked as if they were having a ball! I think it’s wonderful to see voluptuous ballerinas!

Fun Weekend

Well we decided to take a long weekend and take our girls out for some family time over their spring break. We went up to Kentucky to the Mid-American Truck Show which was a lot of fun! We took tons of pictures; I will post a few to the blog soon.

Friday and Saturday we spent at the truck show, then Saturday afternoon we decided to go Go-Cart racing. I really didn’t want to go because one time that I went I couldn’t get the seat belt buckled which was so embarrassing. But we went anyways. We had a blast.

Sunday we went to some caves, go-cart riding again, and horseback riding. This was really hard mentally for me. The entire time we were waiting for the guide all I could think was they were going to tell me I couldn’t ride because I was too big… Read more »

Where am I?

I was looking at this picture of me the other day, it was from when I first got married about 8 years ago. I was about 160 pounds and wore a 10-12. Can you believe that I thought I was fat then! Do you know what I would do right now to be that size again! Was I crazy!

It’s kind of sad the emotional scars that we put on ourselves. How truly deep they go and how they rarely heal completely up. Do you know how many times I walk by the mirror in a day and call myself fat, or some other horrible name?

Odd Compliments

I have found that since I started this blog I feel a bit better about myself. This is very theraputic for me. Don’t get me wrong, I still have my ‘fat days’ where I would really like to crawl back in bed and not face the world. But not as many as usual…

So on to the fun part…my chance to rant and rave a bit. :)

I have a fabulous job. Totally love what I do and on occasion, get a chance to travel to seminars which are a thrill to be at. I get to meet many of our clients, rub elbows with my boss and a couple co-workers that I rarely see. (We are all virtual)

One of my co-workers is very beautiful, and thin.. :) and I get a kick out of watching guys hit on her. But the funniest thing is that these men come up with the craziest lines I have ever heard!

It’s also quite interesting how one compliment to her was taken as a sort of insult to me. I say this is interesting because on a ‘normal’ day it probably wouldn’t have bothered me. It gave me a chance to see how my own self esteem affects me in the craziest ways. Here this beautiful woman is getting a compliment from a guy and the only thing I can think is if I can get a way with smacking him in the back of the head..lol

So you want to know what it was huh? LOL Read more »

Tyra Banks Show

For the last couple months I have gotten hooked on watching or at least listening to while I am working the Tyra Banks Show. The other day she did something that I think was really cool. She did an America’s Next Top Plus Size Model contest! All of the models were regular everyday women, but they were all over 200lbs! Read more »

Totally Irritated

Ok so I was doing a bit of Christmas shopping today when I decided to grab me a pack of cami’s from the underwear section. (They sell them in packs like panties in case you haven’t seen them) Anyways…I won’t say which store it was…just note it is a very well known one..

So I noticed that they have separated the Plus Size underwear/panties from the rest..which is fine. Don’t get me wrong…I would much rather buy my clothes without having to sift through the hords of ’skinny sizes’ that all stores seem to carry. Read more »
