It’s been a while since I have been able to get on here and post some things. Lots of things have changed over the last few months.
I am so loving my life now and couldn’t have made the changes I made at a better time. I am on a journey of finding myself and learning to love myself even more now than ever. I am living the single life after having went through a recent divorce.
I am living on my own now, and loving every second of it. It’s an incredibly liberating feeling when you get that Ah Ha! moment and take a leap of faith and trust your heart and your gut.
I have made some of the most amazing friends and they have been invaluable to me. I have learned that I like socializing where before I stayed to myself because I was ashamed of how I looked and how I felt about myself. I didn’t like being that person. With a little acceptance of my own, I feel like a million bucks.
I think we sometimes are so hard on ourselves that we forget that we don’t have to be perfect. I know I am a big girl and I am ok with it. Those that want to judge me, go ahead..it’s your loss not mine.
I am so loving life and realizing that I was keeping myself back because of how I felt about myself. Don’t do that! If you find yourself doing this, get up, get dressed, do your make up, your hair, etc slip into your favorite heels and head out…even if you are only going to the grocery store you will feel like a million bucks and trust me, you will turn some heads!
Sometimes we have to take a step back and really look at how we treat ourselves before we can ever hope for acceptance from others.
So have you ever went on vacation in hopes of relaxing and rejuvenating only to have it all fall apart?
Let me tell you…after the last vacation I’m not sure I want another one. Every year we do a girls trip. I take my two little ones, and two sometimes three of my friends come with me. Just us girls.
This year we decided to do something different and we went to Williamsburg, VA. Lovely lovely place. We decided to travel on Sunday since we both work from home and are busy during the week. We get about 200 miles or so from the house when the transmission in the truck goes out. Mind you..this isn’t an old, beat up truck..It’s a 2006 with less than 30,000 miles on it.
I was doing some work the other day for a client of mine and one of the articles was talking about positive self talk, and the words we use on ourselves and how destructive those words can be. I didn’t really think a whole lot about it at the time.
It has crossed my mind a few times since though. What really made me think was how when I get a compliment from someone I usually follow it up with a ‘whatever’ or ‘you’re lying’ or even worse something negative about myself that I don’t like; instead of simply saying thank you and taking it as a compliment.
It’s hard to remember sometimes that our situations aren’t as bad as they may seem at the time.
I may not be super model material. I may never be a size 5. I may be big my entire life. I may always have people that insult me instead of seeing the beauty that I know I have.
But…It could be worse. I think that sometimes we draw inspiration from people that have circumstances far beyond what our minds could imagine.

I love this time of year. Spring is my absolute favorite time of year although my allergies don’t really like it much…lol
We start planning our summer vacations around this time. Yeah I know we should plan them sooner…but I’m so not a planner so this is as far out as I can go…lol
Every year I take my two little girls on a girls trip. We usually spend a week at the beach. This year we decided to head north a bit and go to VA. We are going to Williamsburg, VA. The resort has several pools and we are within an hour from the beach if we decide to go for the day.
Going on vacation means having a swimsuit for pool or beach time..blah! I dread shopping for swimsuits.
The weather is finally starting to warm up! I love winter, but man I am looking forward to spring this year! I’ve hit the tanning bed to start getting my tan on…otherwise I would probably blind everyone. LOL
We are taking the girls to Disney World over spring break this year. Really looking forward to getting away for a few days.
I went shopping trying to find some capris as I am sure it will be warm in Florida. I practically had to buy bermuda shorts in order to get them to fit like capris! Do they not make a capri for a short person?
I dread shopping for swimsuits.
